I teach a multi-age 4th and 5th grade class in Salem, MA. My class read The Trouble With Jeremy Chance last year, which is a story about a young New Hampshire boy living at the time of the Great Molasses Flood. My kids really enjoyed the book, and the author, George Harrar came to our class to discuss the book and how it developed. I would heartily recommend the book to this age group -- familiar setting, strong characters and meaningful plot.
